“The time has come,” the walrus said, “to talk of many things: Of shoes and ships – and sealing wax – of cabbages and kings” -Lewis Carroll
My daughter and I toasted the New Year with a Prosecco and pomegranate juice cocktail. Prosecco is dry and very refreshing. The pomegranate juice added the right amount of sweetness. I feel like I need several glasses to forget about what is in the news today. My anxiety level is definitely elevated. I would like to have it all explained to us before we get into a war, not after. This is not the time for nonsensical phrases or keeping secrets. Feels like we’ve stepped through the looking glass and are now in a world where everything is strange and foreboding.
Stream of Consciousness Saturday, #SOCS, is hosted by Linda G Hill. The prompt for today is use an ‘ow’ word in the post.
Makes me also fear the coming times.

We’ve got to keep on with our lives but it’s a real concern.

When I listen to the news its coming war on the one side and burning states in Australia near me on this side. The world is in a bad state, still, we believe and stay positive otherwise we won’t survive.

The fires look terrible. We get wildfires here in California more each year. I hope they get the Australian fires under control soon. Yes we have to endure it all and stay hopeful for the future.

The news was daunting. It is so important to have an outlet for the anger, frustration and sadness such news brings.

I thought we had enough to worry about already.

I hear you Deborah and can tell you, that the Europeans, who are living more close to that area, we are also nervous about, what will be next now.

Just have to carry on and try not to worry but it’s not easy right now.

Scary times for sure. I’m praying for peace and rain over the fires to keep my fears from getting bigger.

Feel like we almost had a war but I fear it’s not over yet. And the fires are terrible. We do need a break from all this.
