If we were having coffee, I would tell you I was out early this morning to get a walk in before it got too hot. The temperature was still in the 80s F, but there was a nice breeze. It was quiet with only a few people out walking, along with a small white-tailed rabbit, a couple of grackles, and 1 roadrunner.
I heard the roadrunner before I saw it, a winding sound like an old wind-up toy.
I looked around but could not spot it. I decided to back track a bit and saw the roadrunner on the other side of the street. He started to cross but saw me and decided to go the way. No good photos today.

I miss morning walks! By the time I finish writing, it’s too hot, and if I walk first, I end up not getting as much writing done.
The roadrunner is adorable!

I have to get out very early otherwise forget it. Exciting that you are writing. Thank you, Janet.

I’m still walking every morning. It’s hard without the dog, but I feel like if I don’t walk, I’ll get used to not moving.

It’s good to keep walking and not lose the habit. I bet you miss your companion though.

It’s cool that you got to see him though!

I was happy to actually see him after I heard him. I am getting to recognize that creaking, clicking sound they make.

I have read that they can make other sounds but this is the one I have heard.
