Fooling around with new image I found on Pixabay. Like what the artist did with this image. At first I thought the image was too feminine but I think it has a bit of sci-fi or fantasy look. And then I messed up on the rules for this badge contest and needed to alter the image more. I hope this works. What do you think? Stream of Consciousness Saturday is hosted by Linda G Hill.

Oh my goodness this is great. I will have such trouble to cast my vote this year. Yours is the third I really like 🙂

Thank You, Bee. Woops, I found out I have to alter the image, I did not understand the rules. I hope you will still like it. 🙂

Sorry Deborah, but I can’t accept this into the contest. Rule #2 says the picture or art must be your own. Which doesn’t necessarily mean you can’t make this your own! It just has to have some modification to it (other than just adding words) to make it unlike something someone else did. Make any sense?

It does and I did not notice that rule. OK, well I could modify it but I do like this image the way it is….I will see what I can do.

Oooh, I like that. Nicely done. 🙂 Now it just needs your name/website on it (Rule #1) and you’re all set. 🙂

Thanks John. Have you been following along, I did not realize I had to alter it. Yikes. 🙂

You mean alter it to put your blog onto it? I caught that last year, actually. Good luck!

Well I put my blog in a caption. I am novice at this badge creation process, obviously. I picked my image from Creative Commons and Pixabay, which are free for re-use. I liked the image but Linda told me I had to alter it to make it my own other than writing SOCS on it. So I added the fireworks in the upper left corner. I haven’t done this very much other than adding text to images from Creative Commons.

I used Retype for mine… it’s an app I have on my phone for creating graphics, and all the supplied backgrounds are open source (you can also use your own pictures). It’s only available for iOS, unfortunately, so I end up building them on my phone and uploading them using Dropbox to my desktop where I have GIMP to shrink the file down to size and crop it. It’s not as bad as it sounds, actually…

Thanks for the info, possibly for future reference. I think it is ok if I leave it with my name in the caption. I used PicMonkey which has some free features. You can use your own pictures on PicMonkey too.
