No Robo

I don’t respond to calls from unknown numbers on my cell and we let the answer machine screen calls on the land line. This is how we avoid sales, scam, and robo calls. It would be great if these kind of calls could be made illegal. Been busy watching The Impeachment trial in the US Senate and enjoying the Amazon Fire Stick our son and daughter-in-law gave us for the holidays. Very easy to use and I got to watch the new Disney Plus Star Wars series ‘The Madalorian’ and treated myself to You Tube TV so I can watch all my favorite news programs especially during this Impeachment trial.  We already had Netflix. I am happy to see the new season of ‘Grace and Frankie’, and it is really good. I like the way this series approaches issues of ageing. Jane Fonda looks wonderful as usual but even she has some age related health issues on the show. In the show last season Grace (Jane Fonda) had a knee replacement surgery and this season we see how she has been impacted by it as many everyday people are. She has trouble getting up from low seats, of couches and toilets, and she is embarrassed to let her new husband know about this. So Frankie (Lilly Tomlin) gets an idea for a mechanized toilet seat that lifts people up off the toilet. Grace and Frankie are looking to develop this toilet seat into a new business. Looking forward to the next episodes of Grace and Frankie, and the next season of ‘The Mandalorian.’ Not sure I’m looking forward to the next few episodes of The Impeachment trial. Holding on to the belief (hope) that we Americans will get through it ok no matter what.

Stream of Consciousness Saturday, # SOCS, is hosted by Linda G Hill. The prompt for today is: “last call.” Talk about the enterprise (sales or service) conducted by the last phone call you received from a business you’re not associated with (i.e. your workplace), or talk about that phone conversation itself.

Somewhere in between the politics, congress did pass a new anti-robo-call law. It should help by forcing telcos to identify calls where the CallerID is being spoofed. I’m not overly optimistic, but I am hopeful.
