Today is the 50th Anniversary of Star Trek. Star Trek fans can knock themselves out with all the coverage on the LA Times about Star Trek history, Boldly Celebrating 50 Years of Star Trek’s Television, Movies, and More. Did you know that Captain Kirk fought the Gorn at Vasquez Rocks Natural Area Park in Southern California? Or that Facebook has special Star Trek emojis for a limited time. Would you like to read about the original TV Set for the first Star Trek? You can read all about it here. And while you’re at it be sure to ” Live long and prosper! ”
How well do I remember this date. It was my favourite show.

Me too and I still love Star Trek, the later editions like TNG. Thanks, Pat. 🙂

I’m happy to see that Star Trek is alive, well, and prosperous. Mr. Spock, my first crush, helped me through a challenging part of my adolescence.

I am a big fan of Star Trek and Spock was one of my favorite characters. That is great that he was a supportive influence for you. I bet he would be happy that he was. 🙂

Star Trek has given me more joy and wonder than any other TV show. The concepts of hope and possibility shaped my intellect and gave me comfort during an unstable time of my adolescence.
