Now that is some “sage” advice!!! I think I have read almost all of his books! I agree, if we just start writing it all seems to flow out of us. Thanks for the great quote! ❤

Great quote! Sometimes it’s the only thing you can do-and sometimes it’s all you have to do to get that jump start.

Very nice, Deborah. If Nike made novels instead of athletic wear … 🙂

Yep. I wasn’t even thinking of Nike. I guess that expression really got into my psyche. I will revise my statement to say “Do it.”

No, no. I didn’t mean you have to change it. I don’t think they’ll come after you for trademark or anything.

Great combination of image and words! My husband has read most, if not all, of his books. He was a very prolific and successful writer, and maybe this was the secret to his success: he just wrote. To begin: it is the only way to finish, isn’t it?

Thanks Sandi. I recently read Anne Lamott’s Bird by Bird. It has been around for a long time but she is a popular writer advice giver if that is a good way to say it. She says the same thing and so does Julia Cameron of The Artists Way. Anne says the first drafts may not be great but yeah to get it out and then you can go back and rearrange or edit. I was thinking that the trouble with blogging is, with this daily blogging, we are just throwing stuff out there. So I find I do not have a lot of time to edit or revise. I do some but not like if I were writing a short story or book.
