All right. I have committed to write a post a day for, and I am terrible at acronyms and why do we need them anyway, NaBloPoMo and Nano Poblano. OK I know poblano is a type of chile pepper and not an acronym.
This is the first day of November and we have had our first rain of the season all last night here in Southern California. It really gave me such a great feeling. In case you are unaware, we are going through a drought here.
I usually love listening to the rain at night but last night was particularly wonderful. I had just finished writing a post. My husband had the radio on in the bedroom. I think that blocked the sound of the rain at first. Then I heard a loud drip, drip, drip like there was a leak somewhere. Our plumbing has been noisy lately so I couldn’t be sure.
Then I thought maybe it is rain. It had been predicted for last night. I turned on the light over the backyard patio. I was so happy to see the dripping noise was the rain running off the edge of our tile roof.
It is like any everyday thing that you haven’t experienced for a long, long time and when it happens again it is so special. As if it has never happened before and this is the first time.
|Nanopoblano| among other things.
Ooooh! Rain! Congrats. I’m so worried about that, for you, for the state, etc. etc. California–it’s always something. (New state motto.) Good luck on the NamByPaMbY or whatever it is that is sweeping the entire blogosphere into a tizzy. Remember, it’s supposed to be fun. Fun-ish.

Thanks. Now we only need about another million inches of rain to make up for the drought. Oh well, it is a start. I will try to remember it is supposed to be fun, it is supposed to be fun as she laughed maniacally ( is that a word?)

It was nice to see a picture of you, Deborah. Maybe there is one in your old posts, but, up to now, I had seen only your head. Good luck with the NaBloPoMo challenge and the chili pepper challenge! I impulsively signed up for NaBloPoMo, but that was silly, because I also signed up for Photography 101 and the monthly challenge on 750words.com. Too ambitious.
I am glad that you all got rain! I enjoyed your description of listening to the drip-drip-drip, and hoping it was rain.

Thanks Sandi. I added the picture when I was looking for an image and decided why not my own? I think NaBloPoMo and chili pepper are connected. I am just doing one post a day and tagging it with NaBloPoMo and Nano poblano and Team Pepper and I think I am going insane. 🙂 Anyway, one post a day! You could do it. I read your posts. You can do 750 words easy.

I think you’re right about NaBloPoMo and chili pepper being the same thing? I’m managing to keep up with 750words monthly challenge, but I technically missed posting on Nov. 2 for NaBloPoMo. I tagged it NaBloPoMo, but I probably should take off the tag since I’m going to dorp out. My son’s birthday is tomorrow, and something has to go. I’m hoping to catch up on my WordPress Reading later this week
It looks like you’re still going strong with the NaBloPoMo challenge 🙂

Yes I almost stalled believe me. I was thinking how can I write like I have diarrhea of the mouth. Well, I will take it one day at a time. I know it is very time consuming because I feel like I must read everyone else’s posts who I want to keep connected with especially. Maybe you could keep going. Not to get stressed out though. Just because you are able to write longer posts than I usually do. I think you have the ability. On BlogHer she says that the deadline to sign up is November 4th or 5th. Seems like we don’t have to have posts from the start or do a real short one.

If you keep writing that acronym out dear – I think you will have MORE than an emotional breakdown! 😉 We am celebrating some sunshine today – always a treat!

Ha Ha 😀 You are probably right. I think I already spelled the acronym wrong at least once. Glad you are enjoying the sun. Thanks for dropping in.

Good luck with that (and on getting more inches of rain). We are experiencing rare autumnal sunshine across the pond 😊

One weekend I was in Carmel, Ca. with my husband and it was very romantic running back to our inn in the rain after dinner. 🙂

Good luck to all of us crazy NaBloPoMo-ans and NanoPoblanans! Go, team, go! I have prepared quite a few posts in advance, as I know there will be days when, as they say, “it just ain’t happenin’.” Meanwhile, speed blogging will be the order of the day for me, as I spend my lunch break blogging. I love the camaraderie!
