“When I am constantly running there is no time for being. When there is no time for being there is no time for listening.”-Madeleine L’Engle
Does activity spell virtue or worth. Just because you are not doing anything does not mean you are doing nothing. Why is activity such a virtue? To be bustling around looking busy, saying to the world I have important work to do. One can be standing still and still doing a lot….of thinking.

Lots of “active” people would be better off if they stopped and listened.

Yes, how did we get so brainwashed into thinking we have to be busy all the time?

Wasn’t it Dinah Shore who said, “The more you do, the more you do?” 🙂
On a serious note, I like the way you succinctly expressed a very important thought.

I feel as though I’m busy all the time and when I finally sit down to relax, I think I should be doing something. By the way, I love the photo you chose to add. So pretty!

A great wake up post–We are always feeling guilty if we are not constantly filling in our time accomplishing something, but fail to realize that doing nothing is also accomplishing a real need–rest and a time to think things over which helps in our decision making .

Thank you JC. Why do we feel like we have to be doing all the time? Or that action is always good? It does not allow for time to get to know about ourselves or the world around us and just to be in it. 🙂
