Dance scene from Picnic by Stan Gunn on You Tube:
The film Picnic was based on a Pulitzer Prize winning play written by William Inge. It was nominated for Best Picture, Best Director and Best Supporting Actor.
I’ve never seen the movie, but wow, what a fun dance scene to watch! I was on the edge of my seat with the sexual tension, wondering if they were going to fall in the water, and knowing that Flo wanted to take a swing at her mom or grandma, whoever it was.

Plus it had a little comic relief with those early dance moves.

Yes I love that part of the scene with the dance. Flo is the girl’s, Madge, Mom and she wants her daughter to marry the town rich boy. But along come this drifter to mess up the plan. 🙂

I have no idea about the movie or even Labour Day to be honest, but this dance scene makes it worth it 🙂 Good times!

Yes, I love the dance scene. Labor Day is a national holiday in the US when people would be off of work and many times have picnics.
